Dr Rana Assfoura is an assistant professor in the department of General Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Le Bonheur Children’s hospital in Memphis, TN. She is a graduate of the University of Damascus Medical School in Damascus, Syria. After completing her pediatrics residency at the University of TN/ Le Bonheur hospital; she worked in the community as a general pediatrician for a brief period before joining the faculty of General Pediatrics at UTHSC as clinical educator in the outpatient clinic. Dr Assfoura is a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist and currently is the director of UTHSC Culinary Medicine Program and the advisor for Food Is Medicine group.
