Dr. Maryam Kebbe is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick, where she directs the Perinatal-Pediatric Health & Development Studies (PEADS) Laboratory. She is a nutrition, behaviour, and pediatric scientist, as well as certified lactation counselor, whose work bridges clinical, community, and experimental settings.
Dr. Kebbe received her Doctorate in Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta’s Department of Pediatrics, followed by postdoctoral training in the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford and at the Reproductive Endocrinology and Women’s Health Laboratory at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Louisiana.
She has received over $5 million in provincial, national, and international awards and has led more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, 170 presentations, and 50 media or knowledge translation activities. She is Founder and Chair of the Health in Preconception, Pregnancy, and Postpartum Canadian Collective, member of the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease Canada, Atlantic Metabolism Research Network, and MyRoad, as well as Associate Editor of Applied Nutrition, Physiology, and Metabolism and Assistant Editor of Childhood Obesity.
