Dr. Neubig holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the MSU College of Human Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center and has practiced for 39 years as a board-certified Internist. Currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University, she contributed 27 years to the Internal Medicine Residency program in Grand Rapids. She worked for St. Mary’s hospital in their Geriatrics group taking care of the elderly at all levels of care from independent living to skilled care as well as hospice, fostering meaningful connections with patients and their families. With an interest in preventing diseases such as dementia, in 2023, she earned the title of Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Neubig’s passion for cooking and international cuisine spans a lifetime. Over 28 years, she and her husband immersed themselves in a gourmet group, exploring recipes from around the world with three other couples. Cooking and eating together enhances friendships which are so critical to health and wellbeing.
Driven by a desire to make healthy eating enjoyable, she engages her grandchildren in culinary experimentation, combining science knowledge and creativity. Her focus extends to the intersection of nutrition, exercise, and neurocognitive health.
In her personal life, Dr. Neubig, a mother of four and grandmother of two, cherishes family time. Whether reading, hiking, or cooking, she values activities that encourage social connection and enrich her life.
