Dr. Adina Zapodeanu is a board-certified optometrist with extensive training in both medicine and eye care. She graduated from Medical School in Targu-Mureș, Romania, in 1995 and went on to complete her Ophthalmology Residency in Iași, Romania. After moving to the United States with her family, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2005, followed by a Family Practice Optometry residency at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in 2006. Since 2006 she has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Zapodeanu owns and operates Sherwood Family Eye Health and Beaverton Eye Health in Oregon, where she provides comprehensive primary eye care. Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as dry eye syndrome, ocular allergies, infections, and eye emergencies.
Passionate about whole-person health, Dr. Zapodeanu emphasizes the connection between systemic conditions—such as diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic concerns—and their impact on eye health. She is dedicated to helping her patients prevent ocular complications through education on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes, often advocating the use of “food as medicine.”
In the free time, Dr Zapodeanu enjoys time with her family hiking, swimming, spending time outside, going to local farmer markets, cooking.
