Marissa Toussaint MD, MPH, FAAFP, is a board-certified family physician with over fifteen years of clinical experience. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at Howard University, earned her medical degree at Temple University and completed her Family Medicine residency at Mt Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. Following Residency, she completed a master’s in Public Health at Columbia University and family planning fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore Medical Center.
She holds a wealth of experience working with underrepresented communities and is a recognized leader in health care.
Dr. Toussaint is committed to the improvement of health outcomes and elimination of health disparities. She is a champion for women’s health and lifestyle medicine. To that end, she uses a holistic approach to treatment that incorporates traditional medical treatment with healthy behaviors. Coupled with her passion for cooking, she completed additional certification in Culinary Medicine. She is passionate about improving health and wellness in a culturally sensible manner and seeks to empower patients with the educational tools required to be agents of change.
Dr. Toussaint resides in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and son. Together, the family loves exploring New York, traveling, cooking and learning about new cultures.
