Laurie Powers PA-C is a Physician Assistant with over 30 years of experience. She graduated from Duke University in 1990 and is board-certified in primary care. She also has a Certification of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in psychiatry, as well as a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Insomnia (CBT-I). After years of being passionate about preventative medicine, she became a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist, having trained through Tulane University’s Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine from 2018-2020. Currently at Prana Health in Fayetteville, NC, she practices Sleep Medicine, and she runs a CBT-I clinic for people who suffer from Insomnia. She is also resource for obese patients, as well as a resource for all non-obese patients who would benefit from Culinary Medicine services. Her role may include laboratory work ups, evaluating food diaries and educating the families on the power of food as fuel, with regular follow up to assess progress.
