Food and Medicine coming together – Medical students taking our away elective at Johnson and Wales are actively combining culinary and medical knowledge to improve recovery time for college athletes.

The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine is on the leading edge of a new movement on how healthcare professionals approach nutrition education and patient counseling. Check out the article at Culinate.

Learn more about our new home. As part of the ReFresh Project, The Goldring Center of Culinary Medicine will partner with Whole Foods and Liberty’s Kitchen. Tulane University’s new Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine, which will be a first-of-its kind teaching kitchen serving community members, medical students, and practicing medical professionals. The ReFresh Project will include indoor and outdoor community space for programs that will promote the health, wellness, and vitality of the surrounding neighborhoods, such as gardening, fitness, and education classes. The project will also house programs designed to reduce barriers to fresh food access and improve the health of community members— particularly for chronic and diet-related diseases—being developed in partnership with over a dozen community and national partners. Doctors and Chefs Join Forces for Health Through a Groundbreaking Culinary Medicine University Collaboration. This article provides details into Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine’s partnerships with Johnson and Wales Culinary School and Liberty’s Kitchen to “focus on the significant health role that food choices and nutrition play in preventing and managing obesity and associated diseases in America. The initial program will start at Tulane and will offer medical students practical community cooking classes, hands-on community outreach, and instruction in strategic relationship building with community organizations.”
